SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Wayne Norris of Plymouth, who passed away on May 31, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Wayne Norris was born to Donald and Dorothy Baker Norris in Macomb on August 10, 1937; he graduated from Macomb High School; he served in the U.S. Air Force, where he graduated from the Air Avionic School; he married Janet Irene Tippet in Macomb on December 22, 1963, and she preceded him in death on October 14, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Wayne Norris was a retired farmer; and

WHEREAS, Wayne Norris enjoyed raising cattle, gunsmithing, hunting, and attending classic car shows; he loved old tractors and motorcycles; and

WHEREAS, Wayne Norris' biggest joy was raising his daughters and spending time with his grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Wayne Norris was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James Norris; and

WHEREAS, Wayne Norris is survived by his daughters, Janine (Mark) Dorethy, Wendy (Jeff) Legare, and Caroline (Edward) Norris Watson; his grandchildren, Heather (Matthew) Parkin, Haley (Spencer Raleigh) Dorethy, Emma Legare, and Norrie Legare; eight great-grandchildren; and his sister, Barbara Hoyt; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Wayne Norris and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Wayne Norris as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
