SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Charles Logan "Chuck" Luallen of
4Aledo, who passed away on August 16, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Logan Luallen was born to Artie and Alice Burress
6Luallen in Odon, Indiana on May 13, 1928; he attended schools
7in Odon; after his father's passing in 1940, he and his mother
8moved to Woodhull, Illinois; he entered the U.S. Army in 1946,
9and he served in the 63rd Infantry Regiment in the Philippines
10and Korea; he married Ella Mae Kernan at the Aledo United
11Methodist Church on December 31, 1949; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Logan Luallen worked as a truck driver his entire
13career; he was employed at Murdock Trucking Co. of Aledo for
14almost 30 years until the business closed; he was later
15employed at Adrian Trucking Co. in Milan until he was 65 years
16old; he continued to drive locally for various farmers for a
17few more years before finally retiring in 2009 at the age of
1881; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Logan Luallen will be remembered as a gentle,
20soft-spoken, hardworking, and loving husband, father,
21grandfather, and great-grandfather; and

1    WHEREAS, Logan Luallen was preceded in death by his
2parents; his sisters, Jessie Sterling, Cora Connour, Juanita
3Holmes, and Esther Holmes; and his brothers, Raymond, Firman,
4Sherman, Ira, Clarence, Harold, and William Luallen; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Logan Luallen is survived by his wife; his
6daughters, Donna (Jerry) Lee and Kathryn (Brian Hochgurtel)
7Luallen; his son, Chuck Luallen; his grandchildren, Gerald
8Matthew Lee, Wendy (Otto Baechli) Lee, Keeley Luallen, Wyatt
9Luallen, Brooke (JP) Giraldo, and Sarah (Flamur) Luallen; his
10great-grandchildren, Tessa Baechli Lee, Kai Lani, and Marlee
11Giraldo; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Charles Logan "Chuck" Luallen and extend our sincere
15condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
16him; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Logan Luallen as an expression of
19our deepest sympathy.
