SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Matthew Hutti of Charleston, who
4passed away on December 30, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Matthew Hutti was born to Stephen L. and Deborah
6L. Greiner Hutti on June 26, 1979; he graduated from
7Charleston High School in 1998; he earned his bachelor's
8degree from Fontbonne University in St. Louis in 2002 and his
9Master of Science in Sports Management from Eastern Illinois
10University in 2007; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Matthew Hutti initially worked as a cast member
12at Disney World in Florida before returning to Charleston,
13where he became a substitute teacher; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Matthew Hutti was elected to the Charleston City
15Council for three terms, striving to ensure all residents had
16access to positive opportunities; during his time in office,
17he focused his support on Lake Charleston, the Linder City
18Sports Complex, and the upcoming improvements to Douglas
19Drive; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Matthew Hutti embarked on many adventures in
21life, including dogsledding, parasailing, kayaking, skiing,

1zip-lining, hot air ballooning, motorcycling, and horseback
2riding; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Matthew Hutti, who never let his disability hold
4him back, was known for his generosity, being a good listener,
5and understanding the importance of relationships; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Matthew Hutti was preceded in death by his
7maternal grandparents, Richard Greiner and Isabelle Greiner;
8his paternal grandparents, Lawrence Hutti and Mary Jane Hutti;
9his cousin, Danny Greiner; and his uncle, David Hutti; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Matthew Hutti is survived by his parents; his
11siblings, Timothy P. Hutti, Patrick S. (Colleen Hollestelle)
12Hutti, and Heather H. (Sean) Kelly; his nephews and niece, Max
13D. Hutti, Cosette K. Hutti, Aidan Matthew Hutti, and Nolan P.
14Kelly; his godparents, Rebecca Hill and Mark Hutti; his
15goddaughter, Tess Isabelle Hill; and numerous aunts, uncles,
16and cousins; therefore, be it
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
18ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
19Matthew Hutti and extend our sincere condolences to his
20family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
