 1        AN ACT concerning the Department of Employment Security.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 5. The Department of Employment Security  Law  of
 5    the  Civil  Administrative  Code  of  Illinois  is amended by
 6    adding Section 1005-160 as follows:

 7        (20 ILCS 1005/1005-160 new)
 8        Sec. 1005-160. Personal assistant and direct care  worker
 9    recruitment pilot program. The Department, with the advice of
10    the  Illinois  Workforce  Investment Board, shall develop and
11    implement  a  pilot  demonstration  program  that  encourages
12    partnerships  among  local  Workforce   Investment   Centers,
13    Centers for Independent Living, and providers of services and
14    supports  for persons with disabilities to develop innovative
15    recruitment and retention initiatives for personal assistants
16    and  direct  care  workers  who  work   with   persons   with
17    disabilities.

18        Section  99.  Effective  date. This Act takes effect upon
19    becoming law.
