 1        AN ACT in relation to presidential electors.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 5.  The Election  Code  is  amended  by  changing
 5    Section 21-3 as follows:

 6        (10 ILCS 5/21-3) (from Ch. 46, par. 21-3)
 7        Sec.  21-3.   Publication of results.  Within 5 five days
 8    after the votes shall have been  canvassed  and  the  results
 9    declared  or  the  result  declared by lot as provided for in
10    Section 21-2 above, the Governor shall cause  the  result  of
11    the  said  election  to  be published, and shall proclaim the
12    persons electors of President and  Vice-President  so  chosen
13    composing the list so elected, by transmitting by mail to the
14    several  persons  so  chosen  and  composing  the list or set
15    elected,   electors   of   President    and    Vice-President
16    certificates  in triplicate, under the Seal of State of their
17    appointment, and shall also transmit under the Seal of  State
18    to   the   Secretary  of  State  of  the  United  States  the
19    certificate of the election of said electors as  required  by
20    the laws of Congress.
