 1        AN ACT concerning schools.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 5. The School Code is amended by  adding  Section
 5    2-3.131 as follows:

 6        (105 ILCS 5/2-3.131 new)
 7        Sec.  2-3.131.  Nutritious  school meals. The State Board
 8    of Education shall adopt rules  to  make  sure  that  schools
 9    serve  nutritionally  valuable  meals  to their students. The
10    State Board of Education shall monitor the nutritional  value
11    of school meals by making on-site inspections.
