 1        AN ACT concerning education.

 2        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section  5.   The Public Community College Act is amended
 5    by changing Sections 3-31.1 and 5-2 as follows:

 6        (110 ILCS 805/3-31.1) (from Ch. 122, par. 103-31.1)
 7        Sec. 3-31.1. To  provide,  for  students  and  employees,
 8    auxiliary  services  related to the adequate operation of the
 9    college. In exercising this  power  the  board  may  provide,
10    purchase,    lease    or    contract   for   such   services.
11    Notwithstanding any other  law,  the  board  may  provide  or
12    contract  for  residential housing for students and employees
13    of the college.

16        Sec. 5-2.  Definitions. As used in this  Article,  unless
17    the context otherwise requires:;
18        "Building  purposes" means the preparation of preliminary
19    drawings and sketches, working drawings  and  specifications,
20    erection,   building   acquiring,   altering,   improving  or
21    expanding college facilities, including  the  acquisition  of
22    land therefor, and the inspection and supervision thereof, to
23    be used exclusively for community colleges.
24        "Facilities"  means  classroom  buildings  and equipment,
25    related structures and utilities necessary or appropriate for
26    the uses of a community college, but not  including  land  or
27    buildings  intended primarily for staff housing, dormitories,
28    or for athletic exhibitions,  contests  or  games  for  which
29    admission charges are to be made to the general public.

 1        Section  99.  Effective date.  This Act takes effect upon
 2    becoming law.
