 1        AN ACT in relation to juvenile detention centers.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 5. The Unified Code of Corrections is amended  by
 5    adding Section 3-2-7.1 as follows:

 6        (730 ILCS 5/3-2-7.1 new)
 7        Sec.  3-2-7.1.  The  State  shall,  at all times, provide
 8    funding to maintain a full staff  of  full-time  correctional
 9    officers  (one  officer  for  each 7 detainees) at all county
10    juvenile detention centers.

11        Section 99. Effective date. This Act  takes  effect  upon
12    becoming law.
