 1        AN ACT concerning deceptive business practices.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 5.  The Consumer  Fraud  and  Deceptive  Business
 5    Practices Act is amended by adding Section 2MM as follows:

 6        (815 ILCS 505/2MM new)
 7        Sec.  2MM.  Cellular phone billing increments. A provider
 8    of cellular phone service must, for purposes of charging  for
 9    calls  having  a duration or more than one minute, round down
10    to the next lowest full minute all usage  of  29  seconds  or
11    less  and  round up to the next highest full minute all usage
12    of 30 seconds or more. A person  who  violates  this  Section
13    commits an unlawful practice within the meaning of this Act.
