 1        AN ACT concerning the Illinois Poison Control System.

 2        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section  10.  The Poison Control System Act is amended by
 5    adding Section 13 as follows:

 6        (410 ILCS 47/13 new)
 7        Sec.  13.  Funding.   To   ensure   the   stability   and
 8    predictability  of  funding  for  the Illinois Poison Control
 9    System, the Department of  Public  Health  must  establish  a
10    formula  that  sets  State  goals  for funding the System. In
11    addition to other  factors,  the  formula  must  increase  or
12    decrease  the  annual funding amount to match any increase or
13    decrease in the Consumer Price Index for All Urban  Consumers
14    for all items, or its successor index, as reported on January
15    1  of  each year. The State shall continue to provide funding
16    to the Illinois Poison Control System on an annual  basis  in
17    furtherance of the goals of the funding formula.

18        Section  99.  Effective date.  This Act takes effect upon
19    becoming law.
