 1        AN ACT making appropriations.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4                              ARTICLE 1

 5        Section 5.  The sum of $218,360,999, or so  much  thereof
 6    as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue
 7    Fund to the Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University
 8    for any expenditures or purposes authorized by law, including
 9    payment  to  the University for personal services and related
10    costs incurred.

11        Section 10.  The sum of $250,000, or so much  thereof  as
12    may  be  necessary,  is appropriated from the General Revenue
13    Fund to the Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University
14    for all costs required to match the Federal Title II  Teacher
15    Quality   Enhancement   State  Grant  for  Southern  Illinois
16    University at Carbondale, including payment to the University
17    for personal services and related costs incurred.

18        Section 15.  The sum of $250,000, or so much  thereof  as
19    may  be  necessary,  is appropriated from the General Revenue
20    Fund to the Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University
21    for all costs required to match the Federal Title II  Teacher
22    Quality   Enhancement   State  Grant  for  Southern  Illinois
23    University  at  Edwardsville,  including   payment   to   the
24    University for personal services and related costs incurred.

25        Section  99.   Effective  date.  This Act takes effect on
26    July 1, 2003.
