 1        AN ACT in relation to health facilities.

 2        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section  5.  The  Hospital  Licensing  Act  is amended by
 5    adding Section 10.5 as follows:

 6        (210 ILCS 85/10.5 new)
 7        Sec. 10.5.  Mandatory non-emergency room physician.  In a
 8    hospital  with  100  or  more  patient  beds,  at  least  one
 9    physician, in addition to any emergency room physicians, must
10    be on duty at all times to serve non-emergency room  patients
11    exclusively.
