 1        AN ACT concerning tuberculosis sanitariums.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 5. The Tuberculosis Sanitarium  District  Act  is
 5    amended by changing Section 5.4 as follows:

 6        (70 ILCS 920/5.4 new)
 7        Sec.  5.4.   Dissolution;  counties of 3,000,000 or more.
 8    Notwithstanding any provision of law  to  the  contrary,  any
 9    tuberculosis   sanitarium  district  in  a  county  having  a
10    population of 3,000,000 or more is dissolved by operation  of
11    law  upon  the  effective  date of this amendatory Act of the
12    93rd General Assembly. All assets  and  liabilities  and  all
13    responsibility  for  tuberculosis  care  and  treatment  of a
14    tuberculosis  sanitarium  district   dissolved   under   this
15    amendatory  Act  of the 93rd General Assembly are transferred
16    to the county board of health.

17        Section 99. Effective date.  This  Act  takes  effect  on
18    December 1, 2004.
