SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

815 ILCS 665/10

Amends the Building and Construction Contract Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the application of laws of another state to building and construction contracts.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning business transactions.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Building and Construction Contract Act is amended by changing Section 10 as follows:

Sec. 10. Application of laws of another state. A provision contained in or executed in connection with a building and construction contract to be performed in Illinois that makes the contract subject to the laws of another state or that requires that any litigation, arbitration, or dispute resolution to take place in another state is against public policy. Such a provision is void and unenforceable.
