SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

20 ILCS 605/605-706 new

Amends the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Requires the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity to align the boundaries of local tourism and convention bureaus in a manner determined by the Department to be most beneficial to the promotion of tourism in the State. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning tourism.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by adding Section 605-706 as follows:

(20 ILCS 605/605-706 new)

Sec. 605-706. Boundaries of tourism and convention bureaus. The Department shall align the boundaries of all local tourism and convention bureaus in any manner deemed by the Department to be most beneficial to the promotion of tourism within the State.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
