Amends the Illinois Housing Development Act. Makes technical changes in a Section concerning the homeless mentally ill.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning the homeless mentally ill.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Housing Development Act is amended by changing Section 7.24h as follows:

Sec. 7.24h. Housing for homeless mentally ill. The Authority may use its administrative funds for loans or grants to finance the cost of rehabilitating housing units for the homeless mentally ill. For purposes of this Section, a person is "homeless" if such person has no permanent or temporary housing.

The Authority shall, within 90 days after the effective date of this amendatory Act of 1989, develop a plan for making rehabilitated housing units financed by the Authority available to the homeless mentally ill.
