 1        AN ACT in relation to bodies of water.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 5.  The Rivers, Lakes, and Streams Act is amended
 5    by changing Section 9 as follows:

 6        (615 ILCS 5/9) (from Ch. 19, par. 56)
 7        Sec.  9.  The  Department  of  Natural  Resources   shall
 8    carefully investigate any and all complaints that may be made
 9    that  any  person,  company  or  corporation is attempting to
10    interfere with the free and unobstructed navigation of any of
11    the public bodies of water of the State, and if it finds that
12    the complaint is well founded, the Department shall enter the
13    such  order  as  may  be   required   to   prevent   wrongful
14    interference with such navigation.
