 1        AN  ACT  concerning  powers of the Department of Commerce
 2    and Community Affairs.

 3        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 4    represented in the General Assembly:

 5        Section  5.   The  Department  of  Commerce and Community
 6    Affairs Law of the Civil Administrative Code of  Illinois  is
 7    amended by changing Section 605-55 as follows:

 8        (20 ILCS 605/605-55) (was 20 ILCS 605/46.21)
 9        Sec.  605-55.  Contracts and other acts to accomplish the
10    Department's duties.   To  make  and  enter  into  contracts,
11    including but not limited to making grants and loans to units
12    of  local  government,  private  agencies  as  defined in the
13    Illinois  State  Auditing   Act,   non-profit   corporations,
14    educational   institutions,   and  for-profit  businesses  as
15    authorized pursuant to appropriations by the General Assembly
16    from  the  Build  Illinois  Bond  Fund,  the  Build  Illinois
17    Purposes Fund, the Fund for  Illinois'  Future,  the  Capital
18    Development Fund, and the General Revenue Fund, and generally
19    to  do  all  things  that, in its judgment, may be necessary,
20    proper, and expedient in accomplishing its duties.
