 1                       HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION

 2        RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE  NINETY-
 3    THIRD  GENERAL  ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE SENATE
 4    CONCURRING HEREIN, that the Task Force  on  Executive  Branch
 5    Boards and Commissions is created; and be it further

 6        RESOLVED,    That   the   Speaker   of   the   House   of
 7    Representatives,  the  Minority  Leader  of  the   House   of
 8    Representatives,   the  President  of  the  Senate,  and  the
 9    Minority Leader of the Senate shall each appoint 2 members of
10    the General Assembly and 2 citizens of Illinois as members of
11    the Task Force; and be it further

12        RESOLVED, That the Task Force shall meet initially at the
13    call of 5 legislative  members,  shall  select  a  chair  and
14    co-chair at its initial meeting, and shall thereafter meet at
15    the call of the chair; and be it further

16        RESOLVED,  That  the Task Force shall hold hearings, hear
17    testimony from members of existing  boards  and  commissions,
18    and  receive recommendations from the Governor on savings and
19    other  efficiencies  to  be  attained   by   eliminating   or
20    consolidating  existing  boards  and  commissions;  and be it
21    further

22        RESOLVED, That the Task Force shall report  its  findings
23    and  recommendations to the Governor and the General Assembly
24    no later than January 1, 2005.
