HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Firefighters are courageous and devoted public servants who risk their lives for the betterment of their communities by serving as defenders of lives and property; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to recognize Firefighter/Engineer Al Rollins on the occasion of his retirement from the Normal Fire Department after 27 years of dedicated service; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Rollins began his career with the Normal Fire Department as a volunteer in May of 1974; he became a full-time firefighter on January 1, 1977; he was promoted to the position of Driver/Engineer on May 10, 1999; and

WHEREAS, During his career, he was instrumental in the establishment of a second rescue squad and he was a member of the department's Hazardous Materials Team; and

WHEREAS, His long and diligent service to his community has touched the lives of countless people and deserves the highest praise; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we commend Al Rollins for his long and distinguished career of exemplary public service to his community and we wish him good health and happiness in all of his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Al Rollins as an expression of our admiration and respect.
