HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The State has negotiated a fair contract with AFSCME members to secure reasonable raises over the next four years; and

WHEREAS, It has been a long-standing policy of the State that merit compensation employees be given benefits similar to those of union employees; and

WHEREAS, Early retirement and a tight budget year have made many merit compensation employees' jobs more difficult than usual; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we encourage the Governor to extend to merit compensation employees benefit enhancements similar to those given to AFSCME members; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Governor.
