 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The State of Illinois is facing a budget crisis;
 3    and

 4        WHEREAS, New ways  to  generate  revenue  for  the  State
 5    should  be  explored  as  a  means  to deal with this crisis;
 6    therefore, be it

 7        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
 8    NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
 9    the  Department  of  Central  Management  Services  and   the
10    Illinois Department of Transportation are directed to conduct
11    a  study  to  determine  the  steps  necessary to develop and
12    implement a plan for advertising on State property,  such  as
13    renting  billboard  space  on  State  buildings or buying the
14    rights to name a bridge or highway; and be it further

15        RESOLVED,  That  the  Department  of  Central  Management
16    Services and the Illinois Department of Transportation  shall
17    submit   their   report   and   findings   to  the  House  of
18    Representatives no later than January  1,  2004;  and  be  it
19    further

20        RESOLVED, That a suitable copy be sent to the Director of
21    Central    Management   Services   and   the   Secretary   of
22    Transportation.
