HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Elective Bethrone Harris-Phillips of Chicago passed away on September 4, 2004; and

WHEREAS, She was born in Beaumont, Texas, on November 1, 1924, the daughter of Albretta Johnson-Harris and Calvin Harris; and

WHEREAS, She completed her education and began working for Stewart-Warner; she then explored practical nursing and teaching careers, retiring from CAMS in 1987; and

WHEREAS, She married John Phillips in 1951 and they had a daughter, Stephanie; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Phillips a loving helpmate and caregiver to her mother and siblings and she was a phenomenal cook; during her early years she was an active member of Gorham Methodist Church's "Circle Number 6" Ladies Auxiliary, and the Woodlawn Organization; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Elective Bethrone Harris-Phillips will be deeply felt by many, especially her daughter, Stephanie; her granddaughter, Brooke; her siblings, Henry, Mellolee, and Albert; and her many nieces, nephews, friends, and in-laws; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we that we mourn the death of Elective Bethrone Harris-Phillips along with all who knew and loved her and we extend our sincere condolences to her family and friends during their time of bereavement; and be it further; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to her family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
