HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, We have learned with sadness of the death of Lance
3 Corporal Branden Paul Ramey of Belvidere on November 8, 2004
4 while serving his country in Iraq; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Branden Paul Ramey was born on Oct. 6, 1982 in
6 Rockford, the son of Randy Duane Ramey and Pamela Kaye
7 Lightner; and
 
8     WHEREAS, He graduated from Belvidere High School in 2001
9 where he was an all-around athlete and was named homecoming
10 king; he played semiprofessional football for the Belvidere
11 Rush; he attended Rock Valley College and planned to become a
12 history teacher; and
 
13     WHEREAS, Lance Corporal Ramey joined the United States
14 Marine Corps in 2001; he was a machine gunner with the 2nd
15 Battalion, 24th Marines Gulf Company, 4th Division and was
16 proud to be serving his country with honor in Operation Iraqi
17 Freedom; and
 
18     WHEREAS, The death of Lance Corporal Ramey is a great loss
19 to his family, especially his parents, Randy Duane Ramey and
20 Sandy Ramey and Pamela and Eddie Trevino; his fiancee, Stacey
21 Lee; his brothers, Nicholas Ramey, Bryce Trevino, and Brent
22 Trevino; his sister, Melissa Ramey; his grandparents, Gordon
23 and Betty Ramey, Paul and Joyce Lightner, Richard and Janice
24 Gritzmacher, Concepcion Trevino, Arnold and Diane Vance, and
25 Kathleen and Cecil Herzing; and his many friends and extended
26 family; therefore, be it
 
27     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
28 NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
29 together with his family, friends, fellow members of the United
30 States armed forces, and the citizens of this State and this

1 great nation, we mourn the passing of Lance Corporal Branden
2 Paul Ramey and we extend to his family our sincerest
3 condolences; and be it further
 
4     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5 provided to the family of Lance Corporal Branden Paul Ramey.
