HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives offer our sincere appreciation to William E. Johnson for his many years of service as County Treasurer of Bond County; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Johnson was elected County Treasurer in 1970, back when figures were all done by hand; he has served nine consecutive terms, the longest consecutive acting terms in Illinois history for a County Treasurer; for 34 years, he has run the office and served the people of Bond County extremely well; and

WHEREAS, Before he was elected Treasurer, he worked at Pet Milk and was an insurance salesman; while in office, he owned and managed the Uptown Motel and managed a Sears outlet; he has been an active Boy Scout leader since 1993, and has been appointed to the Bond County Housing Authority Board; and

WHEREAS, He married Tedra Cunningham in 1962; they have three children, Whitney, Dan and Ryan, and five grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate William E. Johnson on his retirement and commend him for his long and meritorious service to Bond County residents, as well as the State of Illinois; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mr. Johnson.
