 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, Dr. Ronald Bearwald has announced his retirement
 3    as School Superintendent of Prospect Heights School  District
 4    23; and

 5        WHEREAS,  Dr.  Bearwald  has been vital to the quality of
 6    the excellent public education school system provided for all
 7    children of School District 23, past,  present,  and  future;
 8    and

 9        WHEREAS,  Dr.  Bearwald  worked  effectively  with  board
10    members,  administrators,  faculty, staff, parents, community
11    leaders, and elected officials to respond to  the  challenges
12    of creating schools that meet high education standards; and

13        WHEREAS, Dr. Bearwald has spent 43 years in education and
14    for the past 12 years he has been with District 23; and

15        WHEREAS,   His   professional  service  includes  current
16    Chairperson, Governing  Board,  Rainbows  for  All  Children,
17    current  Executive  Board for the Great Lakes Association for
18    School College  and  University  Staffing  (GLASCUS),  former
19    Chairperson  for  the  North  Cook  Superintendents  Illinois
20    Association  of  School Administrators, former Chairperson of
21    the  Northwest  Superintendents   Association,   and   former
22    Chairperson  of  United Way of Skokie Valley School Campaign;
23    and

24        WHEREAS, Under Dr. Bearwald's  tenure,  all  District  23
25    buildings,  including the previously named MacArthur Library,
26    were renovated to better serve the District 23  students  and
27    community;  in  appreciation for his contributions, the Board
28    of Education declared it fitting and  proper  to  rename  the
29    library  at  MacArthur  Middle  School  as  the Dr. Ronald R.
30    Bearwald Library; and

31        WHEREAS,  Dr.  Bearwald   has   worked   tirelessly   and

 1    persistently  for  improvement  and  quality in education; he
 2    exemplifies  the  character  of  a   dedicated   and   caring
 3    professional educator; therefore, be it

 4        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
 5    NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS,  that
 6    we  congratulate  Dr.  Ronald Bearwald on his retirement from
 7    Prospect Heights School District 23 and wish him well in  all
 8    of his future endeavors; and be it further

 9        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
10    presented to Dr. Ronald Bearwald  as  an  expression  of  our
11    respect and esteem.
