 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members of the House of  Representatives  of
 3    the State of Illinois wish to thank Coach Dave Bennett of the
 4    Pittsfield  Saukees for his hard work and dedication over the
 5    past 27 years; and

 6        WHEREAS, Coach Bennett was hired in the summer of 1976 to
 7    be head basketball coach and assistant football coach for the
 8    Pittsfield Saukees; he has coached football,  basketball,  or
 9    golf for 27 years at Pittsfield High School; and

10        WHEREAS,  The  Pittsfield  Saukees  basketball  team  won
11    Sectional  championships  in  1979,  1980,  1981, 1982, 1985,
12    1988, 1990, 1991, 1993, 1996, and 1999; these victories  have
13    made  the Pittsfield Saukees a member of the Sweet Sixteen in
14    the Class  A  State  Basketball  Tournament  eleven  separate
15    years; and

16        WHEREAS,   The  Pittsfield  Saukees  won  at  the  Macomb
17    Supersectional in 1980, 1985, 1990,  and  1991  and  won  the
18    Class A State Basketball Championship in 1991; and

19        WHEREAS,  Coach  Bennett  coached 23 consecutive years in
20    basketball and averaged 23 victories per year; his teams  won
21    more  Illinois  High  School  Assocation tournaments than any
22    other coach  in  the  State  of  Illinois  Class  A  history;
23    therefore, be it

24        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
25    NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS,  that
26    we  thank  Coach Dave Bennett for his hard work over the past
27    27  years  and  recognize  his  outstanding  success   as   a
28    basketball coach; and be it further

29        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
30    presented to Coach Dave Bennett as a token of our respect and
31    esteem.
