 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members of the House of  Representatives  of
 3    the  State  of Illinois wish to thank Victor J. Boschini, Jr.
 4    for his work as President of Illinois State University; and

 5        WHEREAS, Dr. Boschini assumed the presidency at  Illinois
 6    State  University  on July 1, 1999; he originally came to ISU
 7    in 1997 as Vice President for Student Affairs; he is also  an
 8    Associate  Professor  in  the  Educational Administration and
 9    Foundations Department in ISU's College of Education; and

10        WHEREAS, Currently, Dr. Boschini is serving a term  as  a
11    member  of  the  Board  of  Directors  of the Illinois Campus
12    Compact  which  is  a  coalition  of  Illinois  college   and
13    university  presidents  committed to helping students develop
14    the values and skills of citizenship through participation in
15    public and community service; and

16        WHEREAS, Dr. Boschini serves  in  the  Bloomington-Normal
17    community  as  a  member of the Bromenn Healthcare Board, the
18    Chestnut Health Systems Board of  Directors,  and  the  State
19    Farm Company Mutual Funds Board; and

20        WHEREAS, Prior to his position at ISU, he was a member of
21    the  administration  at  Butler  University  in Indianapolis,
22    Indiana, where he was Associate Provost; he  also  taught  at
23    Butler in the College of Education; and

24        WHEREAS,  Dr.  Boschini  and  his  wife, Megan, have four
25    children, Elizabeth Anne, Mary Catherine,  Edward  Mark,  and
26    Margaret   Ellen;   they   have   been  very  active  in  the
27    Bloomington-Normal community  and  have  supported  ISU  with
28    warmth, friendliness, energy, and enthusiasm; and

29        WHEREAS,  Dr.  Boschini  will  be leaving his position as
30    President of ISU; therefore, be it

 1        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
 2    NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
 3    we thank Dr. Boschini  for  his  service  to  Illinois  State
 4    University; and be it further

 5        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
 6    presented to President Victor J. Boschini, Jr. as a token  of
 7    our  respect  and esteem and with our best wishes for success
 8    in his future endeavors.
