 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The Illinois Association of Park  Districts  and
 3    the  Arlington  Heights  Park  District have recently honored
 4    Michael  S.  Gilfillan,  Park  Board  Commissioner   of   the
 5    Arlington   Heights  Park  District,  for  sixteen  years  of
 6    dedicated service; and

 7        WHEREAS, Michael S. Gilfillan, in his  sixteen  years  as
 8    Park   Board  Commissioner  of  the  Arlington  Heights  Park
 9    District, has tirelessly served the interests  of  parks  and
10    recreation  as  a  leader in the Illinois Association of Park
11    Districts serving as president and vice-president, and  as  a
12    leader in the community of Arlington Heights; and

13        WHEREAS,  Michael  S. Gilfillan's commitment to improving
14    the quality of life in  Arlington  Heights,  through  leisure
15    services,  has  been  unsurpassed  and  has  resulted  in the
16    development  of  premier  recreational  facilities,   special
17    facilities,   and  the  acquisition  of  open  space  in  the
18    community; and

19        WHEREAS, Michael S. Gilfillan has  been  dynamic  in  the
20    advancement  of  parks and recreation on a State and national
21    level,  striving  to   create   incomparable   services   and
22    recreational opportunities for individuals of all ages; and

23        WHEREAS,   Michael   S.  Gilfillan's  allegiance  to  the
24    betterment of parks and recreation in this State  has  helped
25    to   enrich   the  lives  of  countless  Illinois  residents;
26    therefore, be it

27        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
28    NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
29    we  offer  our  heartiest  congratulations  to   Michael   S.
30    Gilfillan   upon   serving   sixteen  years  as  a  dedicated
31    Commissioner of the Park Board of the Arlington Heights  Park

 1    District,  and  that we express our appreciation for his many
 2    years of service to parks and recreation in the State; and be
 3    it further

 4        RESOLVED, That  suitable  copies  of  this  preamble  and
 5    resolution  be  presented  to Michael S. Gilfillan and to the
 6    Arlington Heights Park District Board.
