 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 3    Representatives  were saddened to learn of the death of Staff
 4    Sgt. Jacob Frazier of St. Charles, one of the men  killed  in
 5    an ambush in south central Afghanistan on March 29, 2003; and

 6        WHEREAS,   Sgt.   Frazier   was   in   a   four   vehicle
 7    reconnaissance patrol that came under fire near Geresk in the
 8    Helmand province of south central Afghanistan; and

 9        WHEREAS,  Sgt.  Frazier  was  assigned  to  the 169th Air
10    Support Operations Squadron of  the  182nd  Airlift  Wing  in
11    Peoria;  he  had  been  working  with  the United States Army
12    Special Forces in Afghanistan since January; and

13        WHEREAS, Sgt. Frazier was raised in Ohio and St.  Charles
14    Township;  he  attended Burlington Central High School, where
15    he was a wrestler, and all-conference football player, and  a
16    member of the school's choir; after graduation, he joined the
17    Illinois Air National Guard; therefore, be it

18        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
19    NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS,  that
20    we mourn the death of Staff Sgt. Jacob Frazier along with all
21    who  knew and loved him and extend our sincere condolences to
22    his family, friends, and community; and be it further

23        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
24    presented  to the family of Staff Sgt. Jacob Frazier with our
25    deepest sympathy.
