 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 3    Representatives were saddened to learn of the tragic death of
 4    Army  Spc.  Brandon  Rowe  of Roscoe who was killed in combat
 5    near the Iraqi city of Najaf; and

 6        WHEREAS, Brandon Rowe is the first person from the  101st
 7    Airborne Division to die in combat in the Iraq war; and

 8        WHEREAS,   The   101st   Airborne  Division  is  a  rapid
 9    deployment  force  based  in  Fort  Campbell,  Kentucky,  the
10    largest aviation brigade in the Army; and

11        WHEREAS, Brandon Rowe was the youngest of four  siblings;
12    he  was  a 2000 graduate of Hononegah High School in Rockton,
13    and he enlisted in the army shortly after graduation; and

14        WHEREAS, Brandon Rowe's passing will be  deeply  felt  by
15    many  especially  his  parents,  Milton  Rowe,  and Wendy and
16    Richard Borowski; his brothers, Kevin and Brent; his  sister,
17    Leah;  his  many  friends;  and  the entire Roscoe community;
18    therefore, be it

19        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
20    NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
21    we mourn the death of Army Spc. Brandon Rowe along  with  all
22    who  knew and loved him and extend our sincere condolences to
23    his family, friends, and community; and be it further

24        RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of Army  Spc.  Brandon
25    Rowe  and  his willingness to serve our country, which led to
26    him making the ultimate sacrifice; and be it further

27        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
28    presented  to  the  family  of  Army  Spc. Brandon Rowe as an
29    expression of our deepest sympathy.
