 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  The  Illinois  Association  of  Park  Districts
 3    (IAPD) is  celebrating  its  75th  anniversary  in  providing
 4    education,  research,  and advocacy for its agencies and more
 5    that 40,000 employees; and

 6        WHEREAS, The IAPD has 2,100 locally elected citizens  who
 7    serve  without  compensation  on  park  district  and  forest
 8    preserve  boards;  the  association's  mission  is to advance
 9    these agencies in their ability to provide  outstanding  park
10    and recreation opportunities, preserve our natural resources,
11    and  improve  the quality of life for all people in Illinois;
12    and

13        WHEREAS, To commemorate  this  special  anniversary,  the
14    association  is  having  a  dinner-dance  on Friday, June 20,
15    2003,  at  the   Hyatt   Regency-Woodfield   in   Schaumburg;
16    therefore, be it

17        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
18    NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS,  that
19    we congratulate the Illinois Association of Park Districts on
20    its  75th  anniversary  and  thank  the  Association  for its
21    dedication to preserving our natural resources and  improving
22    the  quality  of life for all the citizens of this State; and
23    be it

24        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
25    presented   to   the  board  of  directors  of  the  Illinois
26    Association of Park Districts.
