 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members of the House of  Representatives  of
 3    the State of Illinois are pleased to recognize the success of
 4    student athletes; and

 5        WHEREAS,   It   has   come  to  our  attention  that  the
 6    Martinsville Lady Blue Streaks seventh grade girls basketball
 7    team won the IESA State championship game against Arcola with
 8    a score of 27 to 15 to become the State champions; and

 9        WHEREAS, The Lady Blue Streaks finished the year with  an
10    average  of  20  steals  and  18 forced turnovers a game; the
11    team's average margin of victory was 26  points;  during  the
12    summer of 2002, they played in basketball camps, tournaments,
13    and  leagues,  and  some  of the girls played in excess of 80
14    ball games; and

15        WHEREAS, The seventh grade Lady Blue Streaks have  played
16    together  for  many  years,  beginning  in  Biddy Ball League
17    during third and fourth grades and continuing  at  the  Paris
18    YMCA;  as fifth and sixth graders, they won the seventh grade
19    LEIC Conference Tournament; therefore, be it

20        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
21    NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22    we congratulate the Martinsville Lady  Blue  Streaks  seventh
23    grade  girls  basketball  team  on  winning  the  IESA  State
24    Championship; and be it further

25        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
26    presented  to  each  of  the  members  and  coaches  of   the
27    Martinsville Lady Blue Streaks seventh grade girls basketball
28    team with our best wishes for their continued success.
