 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members of the House of  Representatives  of
 3    the  State  of Illinois were saddened to learn of the May 13,
 4    2003 death of Lance Cpl. Nicholas Brian  Kleiboeker,  19,  of
 5    Irvington,  Illinois when the munitions bunker he was working
 6    in caught fire and exploded near Al Hillah, Iraq; and

 7        WHEREAS, Lance Cpl. Kleiboeker was assigned  to  the  2nd
 8    Combat Engineer Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, based at Camp
 9    Lejeune, N.C.; he grew up in Odin, located 148 miles south of
10    Springfield  just  south of Centralia; he graduated from Odin
11    High School, a school of less than one  hundred  students  in
12    Odin,  Illinois  in  2001 where he was an Honor Roll student;
13    and

14        WHEREAS, He was  a  Christian  who  enjoyed  hunting  and
15    fishing  and  chose  to  serve  his  country  by  pursuing  a
16    life-long  dream  of  becoming a Marine; and planned to go to
17    college before officers school; and

18        WHEREAS,  The  passing  of  Lance  Cpl.  Nicholas   Brian
19    Kleiboeker   will  be  deeply  felt  by  all  who  knew  him,
20    especially his parents, Gary Kleiboeker of Iuka and Gary  and
21    Teresa  Clark of Sumner; sisters, Jessica Kleiboeker of Iuka,
22    Hillary, Brittany, and Jennifer of Sumner; and brother,  J.R.
23    Kleiboeker; therefore, be it

24        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
25    NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS,  that
26    together  with his family, friends, educators, community, and
27    fellow members of the United States armed  forces,  we  mourn
28    the  death  of Lance Cpl. Nicholas Brian Kleiboeker, who will
29    be remembered  for  his  selflessness,  bravery,  patriotism,
30    sense  of humor, confidence, generosity, kindness, and strong
31    character and we offer our deepest sympathy to all  who  knew
32    and loved him; and be it further

 1        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
 2    presented  to  the  family  of  Lance  Cpl.  Nicholas   Brian
 3    Kleiboeker as an expression of our sincerest condolences.
