 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 3    Representatives  wish  to  congratulate  Butch  Lockley,  who
 4    recently  came  in  fourth place on the CBS television series
 5    "Survivor-The Amazon"; and

 6        WHEREAS, Mr. Lockley was born in St. Louis, Missouri  and
 7    grew up in Dupo; as a youth, he participated in little league
 8    baseball,  Boy  Scouts,  church  activities,  and  camping in
 9    Southern Illinois; and

10        WHEREAS, Mr. Lockley is a  1970  graduate  of  Dupo  High
11    School  where  he  received  an athletic award for having the
12    most varsity  letters  through  his  participation  in  cross
13    country,  basketball,  and  track;  he received a Bachelor of
14    Science degree from Greenville College in 1974; and

15        WHEREAS, With a career in education, Mr.  Lockley  served
16    for 19 years as a high school teacher, athletic director, and
17    coach;  he also finished a marathon which had been a personal
18    goal of his; in  1994,  he  received  a  master's  degree  in
19    education administration from Eastern Illinois University; he
20    is   currently   a   middle  school  principal  and  district
21    transportation/building and grounds director; and

22        WHEREAS,  Mr.  Lockley  recently  held  offices  in   the
23    Illinois  Principals  Association and the Illinois Basketball
24    Association; he is an active member of the Olney Rotary Club;
25    and

26        WHEREAS, Mr. Lockley enjoys  hunting,  water  sports  and
27    walking; he describes himself as enthusiastic, ambitious, and
28    humorous; and

29        WHEREAS,   Mr.   Lockley   competed   in   this  Survivor
30    competition because he loves challenges,  the  outdoors,  and
31    the chance to win some money; and

 1        WHEREAS,  Mr. Lockley currently resides in Olney with his
 2    wife, Cindy, who is a counselor  at  his  school;  they  have
 3    three  children,  Amanda,  Joshua,  and  Andrea  and one dog,
 4    Casper; therefore, be it

 5        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
 6    NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
 7    we congratulate Butch Lockley on placing fourth  on  the  CBS
 8    television  series "Survivor-The Amazon" and wish him well in
 9    all of his future endeavors; and be it further

10        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
11    presented to Butch Lockley as an expression of our esteem.
