 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members of the House of  Representatives  of
 3    the   State   of   Illinois   are   pleased   to   honor  the
 4    accomplishments of student athletes; and

 5        WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that the ladies  of
 6    Thornwood  High  School  in South Holland participated in the
 7    Illinois High School Association Girls State  Track  Meet  on
 8    Saturday, May 24, 2003, and placed fifth overall with a total
 9    of 36 points; and

10        WHEREAS,  JavanNa Orr placed eighth in the 100 meter dash
11    with a time of 58.35 seconds; Briana Lynn placed third in the
12    100 meter dash with a time of 11.97 seconds and third in  the
13    200 meter dash with a time of 24.29 seconds; and

14        WHEREAS,  The  Thornwood  4x100  meter  relay team placed
15    fourth with a time of 47.98 seconds; members of that team are
16    Porchea Washington, JavanNa Orr, Nicole Burgess,  and  Briana
17    Lynn; and

18        WHEREAS,  The  Thornwood  4x200  meter  relay team placed
19    fourth with a time of  1:42.80;  members  of  that  team  are
20    Porchea  Washington,  Nicole  Burgess,  Jasmine  Sutton,  and
21    Briana Lynn; and

22        WHEREAS,  The  Thornwood  4x400  meter  relay team placed
23    second with a time of  3:50.97;  members  of  that  team  are
24    Shone'e  Muse,  Nicole  Burgess,  Paris Streeter, and JavanNa
25    Orr; therefore, be it

26        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
27    NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
28    we congratulate the  ladies  track  team  of  Thornwood  High
29    School on placing fifth overall at the IHSA Girls State Track
30    Meet  and  special congratulations are offered to each of the
31    ladies who placed in individual and team events;  and  be  it

 2        RESOLVED,  That  suitable  copies  of  this resolution be
 3    presented to each of the members of the Thornwood High School
 4    girls track team.
