 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 3    Representatives    are    honored    to   recognize   notable
 4    accomplishments of organizations in the  State  of  Illinois;
 5    and

 6        WHEREAS,  The  Countryside  Fire  Protection District has
 7    achieved Accredited Agency status from the Commission on Fire
 8    Accreditation International; and

 9        WHEREAS, The Countryside  Fire  Protection  District  was
10    established in 1939; and

11        WHEREAS,   The   Countryside   Fire  Protection  District
12    provides fire, rescue,  and  emergency  medical  services  to
13    portions  of Ela, Fremont, Libertyville, and Vernon Townships
14    in Lake County, to areas within  the  villages  of  Hawthorne
15    Woods,  Indian  Creek,  Long  Grove, and Vernon Hills in Lake
16    County, and to  portions  of  unincorporated  areas  in  Lake
17    County; and

18        WHEREAS,  The Countryside Fire Protection District is led
19    by Fire Chief James D. Spiegel,  CFO  and  supported  by  its
20    officers, firemedics, and staff; and

21        WHEREAS, The Countryside Fire Protection District was the
22    first  Fire  Protection  District  in the United States to be
23    recognized as an Accredited Agency by the Commission on  Fire
24    Accreditation International in 1988; and

25        WHEREAS,  The Countryside Fire Protection District is the
26    first  Fire  Protection  District  to  be  re-accredited  and
27    recognized as an Accredited Agency by the Commission on  Fire
28    Accreditation International in 2003; and

29        WHEREAS,    The    Commission   on   Fire   Accreditation
30    International is a  non-profit  organization  established  in

 1    1996  by the International Association of Fire Chiefs and the
 2    International City/County Manager's Association; and

 3        WHEREAS,   The   Commission   on    Fire    Accreditation
 4    International is dedicated to the quality improvement of fire
 5    and  emergency  service agencies throughout the world through
 6    self-assessment; and

 7        WHEREAS,   The   Commission   on    Fire    Accreditation
 8    International  has  itself  been  recognized  by the American
 9    Society  of  Association   Executives,   winning   the   1995
10    Association's Advance America Award of Excellence; therefore,
11    be it

12        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
13    NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS,  that
14    we  congratulate  the Countryside Fire Protection District on
15    its achievement of Accredited Agency  status  and  thank  the
16    officers,   firemedics,   and   staff   for   their  tireless
17    dedication; and

18        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
19    presented  to  the Countryside Fire Protection District as an
20    expression of our esteem.
