 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members of the House of  Representatives  of
 3    the  State of Illinois wish to thank the members of the Alpha
 4    Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Theta Mu Lambda Chapter for their
 5    extensive work with young people; and

 6        WHEREAS, Alpha Phi  Alpha  firmly  believes  in  creating
 7    resources,  leadership skills, and tools for youth to realize
 8    their full  potential;  they  are  dedicated  to  building  a
 9    foundation  for  the  educational and personal development of
10    the future leaders of their community; the goal of Alpha  Phi
11    Alpha  is  to increase scholarship initiatives and expand the
12    scope of their existing programs to  more  effective  address
13    the needs of the youth of their community; and

14        WHEREAS,  Some  of the community services Alpha Phi Alpha
15    provides   include   the   administration   of    legislative
16    scholarships,  scholarship  awards  funded  by  the  Theta Mu
17    Lambda  Charitable  Foundation,  the  "Leaders  of  Tomorrow"
18    mentorship program, and Project Alpha leadership training and
19    college tours, along with many  other  educational  programs;
20    therefore, be it

21        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
22    NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS,  that
23    we  thank  the  members  of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.,
24    Theta Mu Lambda Chapter, for their extensive contributions to
25    the young people of their community; and be it further

26        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
27    presented   to   Alpha  Phi  Alpha  Fraternity,  Inc.  as  an
28    expression of our respect and esteem.
