 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives wish
 3    to  congratulate  George  Patt  on  the   occasion   of   his
 4    retirement; and

 5        WHEREAS,  Mr.  Patt began his career with the Association
 6    of REALTORS in September of 1970 at the Lake County Board  of
 7    REALTORS;  since  that time, he has served as the Director of
 8    Member Services of the Illinois Association of REALTORS,  the
 9    Executive  Vice  President  of  the  Danville  Area  Board of
10    REALTORS, as Executive Vice President of the DuPage Board  of
11    REALTORS,  as Executive Vice President of the Naples Board of
12    REALTORS in Florida, as State Executive Vice President of the
13    Oklahoma Association of REALTORS, as Executive Vice President
14    of the Greater South Suburban Association of REALTORS, and as
15    Executive Vice President of the REALTOR  Association  of  the
16    West/South  Suburban  Chicagoland;  he  also  served  as  the
17    President of the Real Estate Educational Foundation; and

18        WHEREAS,  Throughout  his  career,  Mr.  Patt  has  set a
19    standard of excellence wherever he has been  and  has  always
20    left  the  organizations  he  has served better than he found
21    them; he served as Chairman of the  National  Association  of
22    REALTORS  Executive Officers Committee, served twice as Chair
23    of the Illinois Executive Officers Committee, has served  the
24    National    Association    as    the    Executive   Committee
25    representative in 1994, as a member of the Executive Officers
26    Seminar Board of Governor's from 1983 through  1986,  and  he
27    served  as Dean of the Seminar in 1987; he has also served on
28    the NAR's Board of Directors in 1985, 1991, and 1994, as well
29    as being a member of the MLS Policy Committee; and

30        WHEREAS, Mr.  Patt  is  a  recipient  of  a  Presidential
31    Medallion from the Illinois Association of REALTORS, which is
32    one of the highest awards given by IAR, and he is one of only

 1    8  executive officers to receive such an award in the history
 2    of the association; he was the 1996 recipient of the  William
 3    R. Magel Award, an award given by the National Association of
 4    REALTORS  to  an  individual who has truly excelled in his or
 5    her role  as  an  executive  officer  of  a  local  or  state
 6    association  of  REALTORS  and  who  is active in the REALTOR
 7    organization at the time of nomination; he  is  a  Bud  Smith
 8    Society  recipient  and was given the Illinois Association of
 9    REALTORS Lifetime  Achievement  Award  this  year;  he  is  a
10    recipient   of   the   Illinois   Association   of   REALTORS
11    Distinguished Service Award as well; and


12        WHEREAS, Mr. Patt is a respected speaker in his field; he
13    was asked to speak at the Association of Executives Institute
14    several times as well as being a speaker at the 1991 Canadian
15    Real  Estate  Association  Executives  Institute  in Toronto,
16    Canada; therefore, be it

17        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
18    NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
19    we congratulate Mr.  George  Patt  on  the  occasion  of  his
20    retirement  after  over 30 years as a respected member of the
21    real estate community; and be it further

22        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
23    presented to Mr. Patt as an expression of our esteem.
