 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 3    Representatives  recognize  Kevin  Kendrigan  for 30 years of
 4    service with the  Northwest  Special  Recreation  Association
 5    (NWSRA); and

 6        WHEREAS,  Mr.  Kendrigan  has  been the Director of NWSRA
 7    since its formation in 1974; and

 8        WHEREAS, Mr. Kendrigan graduated from  Southern  Illinois
 9    University receiving both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree;
10    he has been extremely involved in Special Olympics and serves
11    on  the Illinois State Board of Directors; he is on the board
12    of the Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce and is active on
13    a  number  of  local,  state,   and   national   professional
14    committees and boards; and

15        WHEREAS,  NWSRA  is  a  cooperative  of 16 park districts
16    providing  community  access   and   leisure   services   for
17    individuals   experiencing   a   disabling   condition;   the
18    Association  has  been a two-time winner of the National Gold
19    Medal  Award  for  excellence  in  the  field  of  parks  and
20    recreation management in 1981 and 1989; and

21        WHEREAS, NWSRA also hosts the Area  18  Special  Olympics
22    program;  Mr.  Kendrigan  is  the  president  of  the Special
23    Leisure Services Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit providing
24    additional resources to support the efforts of NWSRA and  the
25    Area 18 Special Olympics program; therefore, be it

26        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
27    NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS,  that
28    we  thank Kevin Kendrigan for his dedication to the Northwest
29    Special  Recreation  Association  and  his  many   years   of
30    exemplary public service; and be it further

31        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
