| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois are pleased to congratulate Dave Swickard of |
| 4 |
| Charleston on the occasion of his retirement and to thank him |
| 5 |
| for his many years of community service; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Swickard has served the community for more |
| 7 |
| than 45 years as a licensed funeral service professional; he |
| 8 |
| served 4 years as the Coles County Coroner; he retired from his |
| 9 |
| position at Harper-Swickard Funeral Home in November of 2003; |
| 10 |
| and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Swickard has volunteered his services at the |
| 12 |
| local Chapter of the Red Cross for over 20 years and is a |
| 13 |
| member and past president of the Charleston Rotary Club, a |
| 14 |
| member of the Paul McVey V.F.W. Post #1592, and a member of the |
| 15 |
| Coles County Barbershop Chorus; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Swickard has been an active member of Wesley |
| 17 |
| United Methodist Church, participating for more than 50 years |
| 18 |
| in the Chancel Choir; he worked with his wife, Alice Jayne, on |
| 19 |
| the Charleston High School spring musical for several years, |
| 20 |
| building sets for nearly every production; and
|
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Swickard is the father of 2 children, Reverend |
| 22 |
| Bob and his wife, Gina, and Laura and her husband, Paul |
| 23 |
| Worrall; he is the grandfather of 4 children, Elyssa, Joshua, |
| 24 |
| Kalia, and Elayna; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 26 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 27 |
| congratulate Dave Swickard on the occasion of his retirement |
| 28 |
| and thank him for his many years of community service in the |
