 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, Waukegan Council #731, Knights of  Columbus  was
 3    chartered on March 3, 1903; and

 4        WHEREAS,  The  Waukegan  Knights of Columbus have for 100
 5    years  been  actively  involved  in  both  church  and  civic
 6    activities in the Waukegan area; and

 7        WHEREAS, Some of these activities include,  but  are  not
 8    limited  to,  Tootsie  Roll Days for the mentally challenged,
 9    Christmas baskets for the needy, Silver Heart sponsor for the
10    Waukegan Area Cancer Society walk-a-thon, and yearly  sponsor
11    of  Father  Paul  Cull's  fundraiser  to  support  local food
12    pantries; and

13        WHEREAS,  The  Waukegan  Knights  of  Columbus  will,  on
14    Mother's Day, May 11, 2003, dedicate its very own  "Our  Lady
15    Of Tears" statue at Marytown, a tribute to the unborn; and

16        WHEREAS,  On March 3, 2003, Waukegan Council #731 will be
17    celebrating its Centennial year; therefore, be it

18        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
19    NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
20    we congratulate the members  of  the  Waukegan  Council  #731
21    Knights  of  Columbus  on  the  occasion of the centennial of
22    their charter and commend them for their years of service  to
23    the community; and be it further

24        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
25    presented to the Waukegan Council #731  Knights  of  Columbus
26    with our best wishes for the chapter's continued success.
