| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, One of the great attractions of the Lake |
| 3 |
| Shelbyville area is tourism and the area has recently been |
| 4 |
| working to increase tourism and promote the lake; as a result |
| 5 |
| of cooperative efforts to bolster tourism at Lake Shelbyville |
| 6 |
| and surrounding areas, the first Spores 'N More Spring Fling |
| 7 |
| Festival will be held the weekend of April 23rd through the |
| 8 |
| 25th, 2004; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, The Festival is being sponsored by the United |
| 10 |
| States Army Corps of Engineers and the Lake Shelbyville-area |
| 11 |
| municipalities of Findlay, Sullivan, Bethany, and Shelbyville; |
| 12 |
| the events to be held include a rummage sale, flea market, art |
| 13 |
| show, golf tournament, off-road show, 5K run, car show, |
| 14 |
| horseshoe tournament, three-on-three basketball tournament, |
| 15 |
| and nature awareness programs; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, The highlight of this year's festival will be a |
| 17 |
| morel mushroom hunt and mushroom auction; the week prior to the |
| 18 |
| Spores 'N More Festival, communities are sponsoring a biggest |
| 19 |
| "shroom" contest, where trophies will be given to the biggest |
| 20 |
| and smallest mushroom in each community; therefore, be it
|
| 21 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 22 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 23 |
| recognize the importance of increasing tourism in the Lake |
| 24 |
| Shelbyville area and support the efforts of the communities in |
| 25 |
| hosting the 2004 Spores 'N More Spring Fling Festival.
