 1        AN ACT in relation to alcoholic liquor.

 2        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section  5.  The Liquor Control Act of 1934 is amended by
 5    changing Section 1-2 as follows:

 6        (235 ILCS 5/1-2) (from Ch. 43, par. 94)
 7        Sec. 1-2.  This Act shall be liberally construed,  so  to
 8    the  end that the health, safety and welfare of the People of
 9    the State of Illinois shall be protected  and  temperance  in
10    the  consumption  of  alcoholic liquors shall be fostered and
11    promoted by sound and careful control and regulation  of  the
12    manufacture, sale and distribution of alcoholic liquors.
