 1        AN ACT making appropriations.

 2        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section  5.  The amount of $2,305,000, or so much of that
 5    amount as may be necessary, is appropriated from the  General
 6    Revenue  Fund to the Office of the Secretary of State for the
 7    purpose  and  installation  of  800MHz  communication  system
 8    equipment for the Secretary of State  Police.  This  includes
 9    all  homeland security costs associated with the purchase and
10    installation of the 800MHz radios to  maintain  communication
11    services  when  the  Illinois  State  Police activate the new
12    800MHz system in September 2004.

13        Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect on July
14    1, 2003.
