 1        AN ACT concerning agriculture.

 2        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section  5.  The  Illinois  Grain  Quality Program Act of
 5    1988 is amended by changing Section 3 as follows:

 6        (505 ILCS 85/3) (from Ch. 5, par. 2453)
 7        Sec. 3.  Pilot projects. The  Department  of  Agriculture
 8    may  provide  for  and  assist  the  University  of Illinois,
 9    Illinois  Crop  Improvement  Association,  independent  grain
10    inspection agencies  and  other  commercial  firms  in  pilot
11    projects  which  will  demonstrate  and  assist in the use of
12    methodologies developed through  the  program  set  forth  in
13    Section  2.   The  supplemental  grain  quality  measurements
14    established  or  being  measured  shall  not  be mandatory or
15    obligatory for any shipper.
