1     AN ACT concerning insurance.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by adding
5 Section 364.2 as follows:
 
6     (215 ILCS 5/364.2 new)
7     Sec. 364.2. Purchase of ophthalmic goods or services. An
8 insurer may not require a provider, as a condition of
9 participation by the provider, to purchase ophthalmic goods or
10 services, including but not limited to eyeglass frames, in a
11 quantity or dollar amount in excess of the quantity or dollar
12 amount an enrollee purchases under the terms of the policy.
 
13     Section 10. The Health Maintenance Organization Act is
14 amended by adding Section 4-19 as follows:
 
15     (215 ILCS 125/4-19 new)
16     Sec. 4-19. Purchase of ophthalmic goods or services. A
17 health maintenance organization may not require a provider, as
18 a condition of participation in the health maintenance
19 organization's health care plan, to purchase ophthalmic goods
20 or services, including but not limited to eyeglass frames, in a
21 quantity or dollar amount in excess of the quantity or dollar
22 amount an enrollee purchases under the terms of the health care
23 plan.
 
24     Section 15. The Limited Health Service Organization Act is
25 amended by adding Section 3010 as follows:
 
26     (215 ILCS 130/3010 new)
27     Sec. 3010. Purchase of ophthalmic goods or services. An
28 organization may not require a provider, as a condition of

1 participation in the organization's limited health care plan,
2 to purchase ophthalmic goods or services, including but not
3 limited to eyeglass frames, in a quantity or dollar amount in
4 excess of the quantity or dollar amount an enrollee purchases
5 under the terms of the limited health care plan.
 
6     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
7 becoming law.
