Amends the Illinois Insurance Code. Adds a caption to a Section concerning arbitration of medical malpractice disputes.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT in relation to medical malpractice.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by changing Section 155.20 as follows:

(215 ILCS 5/155.20) (from Ch. 73, par. 767.20)

Sec. 155.20. Medical malpractice disputes; arbitration. All final arbitration decisions rendered in relation to disputes or controversies arising out of injuries allegedly caused by reason of hospital or health care provider malpractice shall be recognized by any insurance company doing business in the State of Illinois and all findings of facts relating to liability and awards of damages in relation thereto which are a part of the final arbitration decision shall be binding on such insurance companies.
