 1        AN ACT concerning public health.

 2        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section  5.  The  Department  of  Public  Health  Act  is
 5    amended by changing Section 3 as follows:

 6        (20 ILCS 2305/3) (from Ch. 111 1/2, par. 22.01)
 7        Sec. 3.  Appropriations for Illinois Municipal Retirement
 8    Fund  contributions.  The General Assembly shall from time to
 9    time make appropriations to the Department of  Public  Health
10    for  distribution  to multiple-county and consolidated health
11    departments. Such  appropriations  shall  be  distributed  to
12    health  departments  for  municipality  contributions  to the
13    Illinois Municipal Retirement  Fund.  Distribution  shall  be
14    made  to  those health departments, which have no other funds
15    available for payment of municipality contributions, and have
16    certified the amount needed to  each  county  in  the  health
17    department and one or more of the counties is at a county tax
18    rate  of 75¢ per $100 of equalized valuation for the year for
19    which the contributions are required. The amount  distributed
20    shall  be  equal  to  the amount which the county or counties
21    would  have  been  required  to  contribute  to  the   health
22    department  for  municipality  contributions  of  the  health
23    department  if  their  county  tax rate was less than 75¢ per
24    $100 equalized valuation.
