 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members  of  the  Senate  of  the  State  of
 3    Illinois  were  saddened  to learn of the death of Raymond W.
 4    Menge, Jr. of Roodhouse on April 27, 2003; and

 5        WHEREAS,  Mr.  Menge  was  born  on  June  13,  1943   in
 6    Jacksonville  to  Raymond  W., Sr. and Freda Gibson Menge; he
 7    married Judy A. Thomas in 1979 in Roodhouse; and

 8        WHEREAS, Mr. Menge was  a  United  States  Army  veteran,
 9    serving  in  Vietnam from 1966-1968; he received the National
10    Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam
11    Campaign Medal, Sharpshooter, and Good Conduct Medal; he  was
12    Roodhouse city alderman for 12 years and worked as a plumber,
13    pipe  fitter,  and  welder  at  Doyle Plumbing and Heating in
14    Jacksonville; and

15        WHEREAS, Mr. Menge was a member of  All  Saints  Catholic
16    Church,  the  Plumbers  and Steamfitters Union Local 137, the
17    Roodhouse Park Board, and the Jacksonville Good Time Cruisers
18    Car Club; in addition, he was a  member  of  the  White  Hall
19    Lions Club, and later the Roodhouse Lions Club; and

20        WHEREAS,  Mr.  Menge's passing will be deeply felt by his
21    wife, Judy A.; his son, Terry D. (wife, Kristen)  Menge;  his
22    two  brothers,  Donald  (wife, Cathy) Menge and Robert (wife,
23    Linda)  Menge;  his  two  sisters,  Carol  Daly  and   Sharon
24    (husband,  Charles)  Pine; his 21 nieces and nephews; and his
25    26 great-nieces and great-nephews; therefore, be it

26        RESOLVED, BY  THE  SENATE  OF  THE  NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL
27    ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of
28    Raymond  W.  Menge, Jr. along with all who knew and loved him
29    and extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends;
30    and be it further

31        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be

 1    presented  the  the  family  of  Raymond  W. Menge, Jr. as an
 2    expression of our deepest sympathy.
